Ian's Story

Queenslander Ian Edmunds was a member of the men’s eight which won a rowing bronze medal in 1984, Australia’s first medal in the prestigious event since 1968. The other rowers in the eight were James Battersby, Steve Evans, Clyde Hefer, Craig Muller, Sam Patten, Ion Popa, Gavin Thredgold (cox) and Tim Willoughby. The men’s eight bronze was one of three rowing medals Australia won in 1984.
