Jackson's Story
Tasmanian boxer Jackson Woods made his Olympic debut at the age of 19, competing in the flyweight division at the 2012 London Games. Woods lost 14-12 to Samir Brahami of Algeria in the round of 32. Woods won his first Australian U/17 title in 2008 in the U/44kg division. In his first year in the senior division, Woods won the 2012 Australian U/52kg title. He qualified for his first Olympic Games after taking out the U/52kg Oceania title in Canberra.
