Jason's Story
Born in 1970, Jason Day built a three-Games Olympic rowing career across both sculling crew boats and the double sculls. Day was 21 when he competed at Barcelona 1992, 25 at Atlanta 1996 and 29 at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, a span that reflected his durability in one of Australia’s strongest rowing eras.
Day first raced in the men’s quadruple sculls at Barcelona, where Australia finished ninth. Four years later he partnered Peter Antonie in the men’s double sculls and placed eighth in Atlanta, before returning to the quadruple sculls at Sydney and helping Australia to fourth place, his best Olympic result. That near-podium finish gave Day a respected place in Australia’s Olympic rowing history.
