Jason's Story
Born in 1974, Jason Hewitt represented Australia in baseball at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Hewitt was 21 when he reached the Olympic stage, part of the Australian side competing at a time when baseball was still establishing itself on the Olympic program.
Australia finished seventh in Atlanta, recording wins over Italy and the Netherlands during the preliminary rounds. For Hewitt, selection in that national team placed him among the players who carried Australian baseball onto one of sport’s biggest stages in the 1990s.
