Jason's Story
Born in Sydney in 1970, Jason Stoltenberg became one of Australia’s leading tennis players of the 1990s and represented the country at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Stoltenberg was 26 when he competed in the men’s singles, bringing to the Olympic tournament the experience of a player who had already established himself on the international circuit.
Stoltenberg won his opening match in Atlanta before being beaten in the second round, finishing equal 17th overall. While his Olympic campaign was limited to one Games, selection for Australia in a sport of great international depth was a notable achievement and secured his place in the nation’s Olympic tennis history.
