John's Story
Born in Perth in 1969, John Moore represented Australia in baseball at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Moore was 27 when he joined the Australian men’s team. His selection came in an era when Australian baseball was building greater depth on the international stage.
Australia finished seventh in the men’s tournament in Atlanta. For Moore, Olympic selection placed him among the players who helped give Australian baseball a presence at the highest level during the 1990s. His place in that team remains the defining mark of his Olympic career.
