Julian's Story
Julian Muspratt established himself among Australia’s leading water polo players during the late 1970s. Born in 1958, he was 21 when he made his Olympic debut as a member of the Australian men’s team at the Moscow 1980 Games.
Australia was unable to progress to the medal round in Moscow but completed the classification stage undefeated, recording three victories and a draw. Muspratt and his teammates finished seventh overall after seven matches.
Muspratt returned for his second Olympics at Los Angeles 1984, where Australia advanced to the six-team medal round. The team produced competitive performances against the tournament’s leading nations and finished fifth, improving two places on its Moscow result.
