Kevin's Story
Kevin John Dorge is a former Australian basketball player who represented Australia at two Olympic Games, including Atlanta 1996. Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, on 17 October 1962, the 209 cm centre became one of the most respected big men in Australian basketball during the 1980s and 1990s.
Dorge was a member of the Australian Boomers team at both the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In Atlanta, he helped Australia achieve a fourth-place finish, which was one of the nation's strongest Olympic basketball performances to that point.
At club level, Dorge enjoyed a highly successful National Basketball League career with the Brisbane Bullets, Geelong Supercats and South East Melbourne Magic, winning multiple NBL championships and earning a reputation as a dominant defensive presence.
