Kim Mickle pushed through the pain of a broken rib and detached oblique muscle to finish fifth in the javelin throw at the 2011 World Championships final in Daegu, throwing 61.96m. The West Australian finished ninth in the qualification round at the London 2012 Games with a throw of 59.23m finishing 17th overall.
