Kylie's Story
Kylie Risk is a former Australian long-distance runner who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, on 28 November 1973, she was one of Australia's leading distance runners during the late 1990s.
Risk competed in the 10,000 metres at Atlanta 1996 and again at Sydney 2000. She was also a strong performer in cross-country running and represented Australia at World Cross Country Championships and World Championships.
Her greatest international achievement came at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, where she won the silver medal in the women's 10,000 metres. She also set a personal best of 31:51.71 for the distance, placing her among Australia's finest female distance runners of her era.
