Leigh's Story
16-year-old Leigh Habler represented Australia in Swimming at the 1992 Olympic Games. It was her first Open International meet, competing in the 200m backstroke. Leigh swam a 2.5 second personal best and finished eighth in the Olympic final - it was the fastest she ever swam.
Leigh also represented Australia in Surf Life Saving, was the first Australian female captain, and was a torchbearer for the Sydney 2000 torch relay.
