Leonid's Story
Leonid "Len" Zaslavsky is an Australian freestyle wrestler who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Odesa, Ukraine, on 26 November 1969, he later moved to Australia and became one of the nation's leading wrestlers.
Zaslavsky competed in the men's freestyle 62 kg category at Atlanta 1996, finishing 15th overall. His Olympic selection followed a successful international campaign that included victory at the 1996 Oceania Wrestling Championships.
Competing for the Eastern Suburbs Wrestling Club, Zaslavsky was a prominent figure in Australian wrestling throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, representing the country at major international championships and helping raise the profile of the sport nationally.
