Margot's Story

Margot Foster was a member of the crew which won Australia its first Olympic women’s rowing medal. In 1984, she teamed with Karen Brancourt, Robyn Grey-Gardner, Susan Chapman and Susan Lee (cox) to win bronze in the coxed fours. Foster played an important role as stroke. She commenced rowing while studying at Melbourne University in the late 1970s. She has since maintained a close involvement with rowing and Olympic sport and has served as a board member of the Australian Sports Commission.
