Mark's Story
Mark Robert Bradtke is one of Australia's greatest basketball players and a four-time Olympian. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, on 27 September 1968, the 209-centimetre centre was a cornerstone of the Australian Boomers for more than a decade.
At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Bradtke was a key member of the Australian team that finished fourth, matching the nation's best Olympic basketball result at the time. He was one of Australia's leading performers throughout the tournament, averaging 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
Bradtke represented Australia at four Olympic Games—1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000—and enjoyed a distinguished professional career with the Adelaide 36ers, Melbourne Tigers, Brisbane Bullets and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. A National Basketball League MVP and Australian Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, he is widely regarded as one of the finest players in Australian basketball history.
