Having missed selection for the 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games for the 3000m steeplechase, despite achieving the qualifying standard, it was a case of third time lucky for Martin Dent as he made his Olympic debut in London. At 33 years of age, the Canberran competed in the marathon finishing in 28th place.
