Mary's Story
Mary Daubert (née Grigson) is a dual Olympian and one of Australia's most successful mountain bike riders. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, on 3 June 1971, she later represented Australia internationally and became a pioneer of Australian mountain biking.
Daubert competed in the women's cross-country mountain bike event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, where mountain biking made its Olympic debut, finishing 15th. She returned at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and achieved a sixth-place finish, which remains one of Australia's best Olympic mountain bike results.
Throughout her career, she won multiple Australian national titles, two World Cup races, and a bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. In recognition of her achievements, she was inducted into the Cycling Australia Hall of Fame in 2016.
