Murray's Story
Murray Ian Hocking is a former Australian badminton player who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Melbourne on 31 May 1971, Hocking was among Australia's leading badminton athletes during the 1990s.
At Atlanta 1996, Hocking competed in both the men's singles and mixed doubles events. He reached the round of 32 in the singles competition and partnered fellow Olympian Lisa Campbell in the mixed doubles event.
Beyond the Olympics, Hocking represented Australia at three Commonwealth Games and helped Australia win a bronze medal in the mixed team event at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. His achievements made him one of Australia's most accomplished badminton players of his era.
