Natalie's Story
Natalie Galea is a former Australian judoka who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in the women's half-heavyweight (72kg) division. Born in Sydney on 2 July 1973, she developed into one of Australia's leading female judo competitors during the 1990s.
At the Atlanta Olympics, Galea competed in the women's 72kg event and finished equal 15th. Her Olympic selection was the culmination of years of dedication to judo and national-level success.
Following her sporting career, Galea transitioned into academia and research, becoming a respected scholar focusing on gender equality, human rights and athlete welfare. Her achievements reflect excellence both in sport and professional life.
