Natasha's Story
Natasha Sturges is an Australian-born windsurfer who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Sydney on 30 June 1975, she emerged as one of Australia's most accomplished female sailboard competitors.
Competing in the women's Mistral windsurfing class at Atlanta 1996, Sturges achieved an impressive ninth-place finish against a world-class field.
Prior to her Olympic appearance, she won three consecutive youth world titles in windsurfing between 1991 and 1993 and was recognised as one of Australia's brightest sailing talents. Later in her career, she represented Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics, again finishing ninth, and rose to become one of the world's leading windsurfers.
