Nicholas's Story
Marathon runner Nicholas Harrison competed in his first Olympics at the Athens 2004 Games, finishing 45th in a time of 2.21:42. Harrison was inspired to compete at the Olympics when he was gigging in a pub with his band and saw on the television one of his junior contemporaries, Julian Panter, competing in the Atlanta 1996 Olympics. Harrison returned to running and two years later was selected for the 1999 World Cross-Country Championships and then went on to compete on the marathon circuit before realising his dream by being selected for the 2004 Australian Olympic Team.
