Peter's Story

Born in Mount Isa, Peter Crawford had a long playing career in Australia. He made his NBL debut for the Townsville Crocodiles in the 1999-2000 season and went on to play 488 NBL games over 16 years. The shooting guard averaged 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 25 minutes per game in the Australian professional league.

He represented the Crocodiles from 1999-2004 and had five seasons with the Perth Wildcats from 2004-05 to 2008-09, where Peter averaged more than 30 minutes a game in each season. A reunion with the Townsville Crocodiles came ahead of the 2009-10 season, where he would stay until 2014 to play one last NBL season with the Adelaide 36ers.

The shooting guard represented Australia on multiple occasions and competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the Boomers.

After his playing career, Peter transitioned into coaching. Working with Basketball Queensland (BQ), Peter has coached athletes in the State and National Performance Programs out of Townsville, coached the Townsville Fire in the WNBL and earned the BQ 2021 Male Coach of the Year award.

The Brisbane Bullets appointed Peter as an assistant coach ahead of the NBL22.
