Peter's Story

Peter Nectario Tsekenis is a former Australian footballer who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Sydney on 4 August 1973, Tsekenis played primarily as a defender and enjoyed a lengthy career in Australian football.

At Atlanta 1996, Tsekenis was a member of the Australian Olyroos squad that competed in the men's football tournament. At club level he was best known for his long association with Sydney Olympic, where he made more than 170 appearances, and later Newcastle United.

Following his playing career, Tsekenis moved into coaching and held senior coaching roles with several National Premier Leagues clubs, continuing his contribution to Australian football.
