Rachel's Story

Rachel Lovell came close to competing in the kayak sprint for Great Britain at the 2004 Olympic Games before injury ended her campaign. The next Olympiad she fell pregnant while training for the Beijing Olympic trials. After moving to Australia, the mother of two represented Australia at the London Olympic Games in the K4 500m alongside Jo Brigden-Jones, Hannah Davis and Lyndsie Fogarty. The 34 year-old was the eldest in the Australian crew that finished sixth in the Olympic semi-final.
