Reinold's Story

Reinold “Rein” Ozoline is a former Australian freestyle wrestler who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Born on 18 May 1967, Ozoline established himself as one of Australia's leading wrestlers in the 74 kg division during the 1990s.

At the Atlanta Olympics, Ozoline competed in the men's freestyle welterweight (74 kg) event, finishing 17th overall. He later returned to Olympic competition at Sydney 2000 in the freestyle 76 kg category.

Ozoline enjoyed considerable success outside the Olympic arena. He won a silver medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, while also claiming multiple Oceania Championship titles. His sixth-place finish at the 1995 World Championships remains one of the strongest performances by an Australian freestyle wrestler of his era.
