Richard's Story
Richard Barrie Vagg is a former Australian baseball player who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Melbourne on 27 September 1967, Vagg was one of Australia's premier infielders during the 1990s.
At Atlanta 1996, Vagg was a member of the Australian baseball team that finished seventh in the Olympic tournament. The Australian team recorded a notable victory over eventual silver medallist Japan during the competition.
Vagg enjoyed a distinguished domestic and international career, starring with the Melbourne Monarchs in the Australian Baseball League and representing Australia in major international tournaments including the Baseball World Cup, Asian Championships and Olympic Games.
