Robin's Story
South African-born Robin Jeffery combined with West Australian Kynan Maley to contest the C2 slalom event at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The duo raced through their heats to qualify for the semi-final where they finished 10th, not enough to progress to the six-team final.
The final was won by hometown heroes Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott in one of the upsets of the Games. The British dynamos beat Slovakian twins Pavol and Peter Hochschorner who were racing for their fourth consecutive Olympic gold in the event having won in 2000, 2004 and 2008. In fact, the Slovakians were pushed into the bronze medal position when David Florence and Richard Hounslow, also from Great Britain, sensationally stole silver.
