Robyn's Story
1961 –
Robyn Lorraway, from the Australian Capital Territory, competed in the long jump at Los Angeles 1984. Her husband, Ken, who had competed at Moscow 1980, was also a member of the Los Angeles athletics team. Robyn easily qualified for the final of her event and eventually finished sixth, once place in front of the heptathlon gold medallist Glynis Nunn.
She finished on the Commonwealth Games podium for the long jump at Brisbane 1982 (competing as Robyn Strong) and Edinburgh 1986. Across her career, she won three Australian long jump championships and competed at one world championships.
