Rodney's Story

Monica MacDonald and Rodney Clarke were Australia's first Olympics in the Figure Skating discipline of Ice Dancing. Competing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, MacDonald and Clarke finished 20th. It would be 26 years before Australia would have another Olympic Ice Dancing pair in Danielle O'Brien and Greg Merriman.

MacDonald and Clarke won their first of four consecutive national titles together in 1985. The duo also competed at three World Championships (1986 - 1988) together with their best result being 19th.

After retiring from Ice Dancing, Clarke went on to have a successful business career in recruitment, project management and consulting. He also became the Chairman of the Daniel Clarke Foundation in honour of his son Daniel who was born with athetoid cerebral palsy and has authored books and a blog.
