Sean's Story
Shaun William Creighton is a former Australian long-distance runner who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Born in Sydney on 14 May 1967, Creighton enjoyed a distinguished international career across track, steeplechase and marathon events.
At the Atlanta Olympics, Creighton competed in both the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres. Four years later he returned to Olympic competition in Sydney, racing in the 10,000 metres.
Creighton held the Australian record in the 3,000 metre steeplechase and won a gold medal at the 1991 World University Games. He also represented Australia at four Commonwealth Games and recorded personal bests of 13:17.76 for 5,000 metres and 27:31.92 for 10,000 metres.
