Sean Quilty

Sean Patrick Quilty (1966–2022) was an Australian long-distance runner who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Melbourne on 16 May 1966, Quilty specialised in the marathon and was among Australia's leading distance runners during the 1990s.

At the Atlanta Olympics, Quilty competed in the men's marathon and finished 34th in a time of 2:19:35. His Olympic selection followed several years of strong national and international performances.

A career highlight came at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada, where he won the silver medal in the marathon. Quilty was also a two-time Australian marathon champion and the national 10,000-metre champion in 1999, with a marathon personal best of 2:13:20.
