Stephen's Story
Stephen Christopher “Steve” Corica is a former Australian footballer who represented Australia at the 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Innisfail, Queensland, on 24 March 1973, Corica was one of Australia’s most gifted attacking midfielders of his generation.
At the Atlanta Olympics, Corica was a member of the Australian men’s football team, making his second Olympic appearance after helping Australia reach fourth place at Barcelona 1992.
Corica went on to enjoy a distinguished professional career with Marconi Stallions, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Walsall and Sydney FC. He later became one of Australia’s most successful coaches, leading Sydney FC to multiple A-League championships and premierships.
