Stephen's Story
Stephen Hodge is a former Australian professional cyclist who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Adelaide on 18 July 1961, Hodge was one of Australia’s pioneering road cyclists in Europe and competed professionally from 1987 to 1996.
At Atlanta 1996, Hodge competed in both the men’s road race and the individual time trial. His Olympic appearance came at the end of a highly successful international cycling career.
Hodge completed 14 Grand Tours during his professional career and rode for leading European teams including ONCE and Festina. After retirement, he served as Vice President of Cycling Australia and became a prominent advocate for cycling participation and safety.
