Steven's Story
Steven Horvat is a former Australian footballer who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Geelong, Victoria, on 14 March 1971, Horvat was a dependable defender who enjoyed a lengthy career at both domestic and international levels.
At the Atlanta Olympics, Horvat competed for the Australian men's football team. He later became a regular member of the Socceroos, earning 32 senior international appearances between 1994 and 2002.
His club career included spells with Melbourne Knights, Hajduk Split in Croatia, Carlton and Crystal Palace. Horvat also represented Australia at the FIFA Confederations Cup and was part of the team that won the 2000 OFC Nations Cup.
