Stuart's Story

Stuart Allan Thompson is a former Australian baseball player who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Wollongong, New South Wales, on 1 March 1970, Thompson was one of Australia's most productive designated hitters during the 1990s.

At Atlanta 1996, Thompson was a member of the Australian baseball team that finished seventh. One of his highlights was a three-run home run in Australia's memorable victory over Japan, one of the strongest teams in the tournament.

Thompson enjoyed a successful Australian Baseball League career with the East Coast and Gold Coast Cougars, earning multiple All-Star selections. He also represented Australia at the 1993 Intercontinental Cup and the 1994 Baseball World Cup
