Theodore's Story
1880 – 1945
Theo Tartakover was a dual Olympian, swimming at London 1908 and Stockholm 1912. He was originally from the powerful East Sydney Swimming Club, which had Olympians Freddie Lane, Cecil Healy and Snowy Baker amongst its members. His best result at the two Olympics was fourth, with the teenaged Frank Beaurepaire, Snowy Baker and Frank Springfield, in the 4 x 200 metres freestyle relay.
Tartakover and Sydney Middleton, Rugby 1908 and Rowing 1912, were the first Australians to compete at two official Olympic Games.
