Timothy's Story
Tim McLaren rowed with Gary Gullock, Tony Lovrich and Paul Reedy to win a silver medal in the men’s quadruple sculls in 1984. Entering the Los Angeles Games, Australia had only won a single rowing medal since 1956, so the quad’s medal is regarded as a turning point in the fortunes of our national crews. McLaren has since established himself as one of the most renowned rowing coaches in the world, with his rowers winning five medals over four Olympics.
