Tina's Story

Tina Kirkman (née Wood) is a former Australian judoka who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Liverpool, New South Wales, on 23 December 1969, she competed in the women's extra-lightweight (under 48kg) division.

At Atlanta 1996, Kirkman competed in the women's under-48kg event finishing equal 19th, becoming one of Australia's Olympic representatives in judo.

Kirkman dominated her weight class in Australia during the 1990s, winning multiple Australian titles and claiming gold medals at the Oceania Championships in 1994 and 1996. Her achievements established her among Australia's leading judoka of the era.
