Travis's Story
Travis Passier lined up for Australia at his first major senior tournament at the 2008 Asia Cup before finishing 7th with Australia at the 2009 Asian Championships. He moved to Europe to progress his career as a professional volleyballer and leading in to the London Olympics he had played in Sweden, Denmark and Italy.
Making his Olympic debut in 2012, Passier and the Australian team lost their first match to Argentina before knocking off hosts Great Britain in straight sets. Despite not winning a set against Hungary, the Aussies took a 2-0 set lead over Italy before the world’s sixth ranked team claimed victory 3-2. Passier and his teammates then pulled off one of the upsets of the Games when they defeated third ranked Poland 3-1. The Team’s final placing was ninth.
