Trent McClenahan signed with English club West Ham United in 2002 when he was just 17. McClenahan had played first grade for West Ham and Hereford United before he made his Australian U/23 debut in the Olympic qualifying series in 2007. McClenahan played for Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games where the Australians finished in 11th place.
