Vanessa's Story

Vanessa Anne Baker is a former Australian diver who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Sydney on 12 June 1974, Baker was one of Australia's leading platform divers throughout the 1990s.

At the Atlanta Olympics, Baker competed in the women's 10-metre platform event, finishing 25th. Her Olympic appearance capped a successful international career that included Commonwealth Games representation and numerous national titles.

Baker represented Australia at both the 1990 and 1994 Commonwealth Games and was Australian national platform champion in 1992. During her career she accumulated an impressive collection of state, national and international medals.
