William's Story

Will Godward made his Olympic debut at the London 2012 Games. The accomplished pianist grew up in Adelaide, where he was introduced to the sport of shooting at 23 years of age. Just five years later, Godward would become an Olympian in this sport.

The South Australian won the 10m rifle event, 50m rifle 3 positions events at the 2011 Oceania Championships to give Australia a quota place in each event at the 2012 Olympic Games. Godward secured his Olympic selection with a number of top three performances at national events in 2012. He finished 40th with 588/600 in the 10m air rifle event at the London Games.

He returned to Olympic competition in Rio where he claimed 39th in the 50m rifle three positions event.
