Coming to the Olympic Games after Paris 2024 is Squash, one of six new Olympic sports announced in 2023 for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The sport was first introduced to Australia in 1913 in Melbourne where the first squash courts were established. Squash was an extremely popular sport in the 1980s and 1990s, with approximately one million active players across the nation.
Australia has produced seven world ranked number no.1 players throughout history and continues to perform well on the world stage.
Eight squash athletes represented Australia at the most recent Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022, and 10 Aussie competed in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where Australia won two gold and one bronze medal.
Squash will make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028.
