Trap shooter Laetisha Scanlan has continued her strong build up to her Olympic debut after she finished fourth at the final World Cup event before the Rio Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Scanlan and fellow Rio-bound Aussie Catherine Skinner both shot 70 out of 75 targets in the qualification round to set up a four way shoot-off for the final two positions in the six-strong semi-final.
Scanlan shot four straight targets, while Skinner bowed out after three attempts, to progress in the competition.
The Victorian then shot 12 out of 15 targets to set up a bronze medal match with Italy’s Alessia Iezzi. Both shooters then shot 13 out of 14 before Scanlan missed her final shot to miss out on the podium.
In the men’s trap Adam Vella shot 71 out of his first 75 targets in the 125 shot qualification round. He currently sits one shot off the top six needed to progress to the final with the final two rounds of qualification to be finished tonight.
Rio 2016 Australian athletes Elena Galiabovitch and Lalita Yauhleuskaya will also compete in the 10m pistol tonight.
