Simon's Story
1886 – 1919
Simon Fraser, from Victoria, rowed in the two seat in the eight at Stockholm 1912. He enlisted to serve in World War 1. He rowed for Melbourne Grammar School in three Head of the River crews with fellow Stockholm Olympian Harry Ross-Soden.
Fraser was one of the few Olympians to play in the Victorian Football League where he played 23 games for Essendon and University. His premature death was a result of the influenza pandemic that swept the world in 1918 and 1919.
