PARTICIPATION ACROSS WA
“Natalie Burton really inspired our group, and it was evident her resilience and love for sport. She carried herself professionally when she answered hard and emotional questions. One of our House captains asked her the final question "How many times did you think about giving up"- Natalie's answer was one of great motivation and one of a very personal nature. Lily went out and ran the cross-country track after school - She also said to me that she felt bad as she had also given up on her Olympic dream as a runner but Natalie has inspired her to keep going. This was the very essence of the program.”
WA Pilot Program 2021
From Term 2, 2021, Olympics Unleashed has launched in Western Australia as a pilot program for a select number of primary and high schools. In partnership with the Western Australian Government, through the Department of Education and Department of Sport, schools were invited to submit an expression of interest to be involved in the pilot program. The pilot program will include visits to both North and South Metropolitan schools as well as to the 6 regions of Western Australia - Goldfields, Kimberley, Midwest, Pilbara, Southwest and Wheatbelt.
Aimed at Years 5-6 and Years 7-8, Olympians and athletes aspiring for the Tokyo Olympics and beyond will share lessons from their Olympic journey that every student can learn from.
Presented in an interactive and engaging way, athletes will share how they set goals, overcome challenges and demonstrate resilience throughout their athletic journey.
Scheduled around school and athlete availability, the visits also include curriculum aligned lesson plans.
