Opportunities to qualify Australia for the Olympic Games in Canoe Slalom, Breaking and Triathlon are set to play out this weekend across Europe.

Canoe Slalom - World Championships

Nine Aussie paddlers have their first opportunity to secure quota spots for Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics in this weekend's World Championship events.

With events already underway at the 2012 Olympic venue, the Lee Valley Whitewater Centre in London, the Aussie women's kayak team of Jess Fox, Noemie Fox and Kate Eckhardt won gold - 0.29 seconds ahead of Spain and 0.40 seconds ahead of Great Britain.

"Back in 2019 we won the C1 and four years later to win the kayak, and to be the first Australian team to win the kayak, is so special," Noemie said.

All 5 of Australia's K1 athletes have progressed through to the semi-finals on Saturday 23 September. Jess Fox recorded the second fastest WK1 time and Tim Anderson came in 5th fastest in the MK1.

While on Friday 22 September Jess is also set to represent Australia in the women's canoe semi-finals. Then the new Olympic discipline of kayak cross will have heats, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals all held on Sunday 24 September.
