Weightlifting – 2024 IWF World Cup
Aussie weightlifters are in Thailand for the 2024 World Cup, the final compulsory qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Jacqueline Nichele, Sarah Cochrane, Eileen Cikamatana, Kyle Bruce and Oliver Saxton are set to compete between Friday 5 April and Tuesday 9 April.
The top 10 ranked athletes in each of the 10 categories earn an Olympic quota spot at 28 April.

Taekwondo – Oceania Qualifiers
The Paris 2024 Oceania Qualifying event is being held Saturday 6 April in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Tokyo 2020 Olympian Stacey Hymer will compete alongside fellow Aussies Saffron Tambyrajah, Leon Sejranovic and Bailey Lewis.
Countries can qualify a maximum of two athletes per gender with a maximum of one athlete per weight category, subject to competition provisions set out in the full qualification system here.

Hockey – Perth International Festival of Hockey
The Hockeyroos and Kookaburras are set to play their pre-Olympic home send-off, as both coaches boast near-full-strength squads to select from ahead of a mammoth festival of hockey throughout April.
The Kookaburras start a five-match Test series against India on Saturday 6 April through to Saturday 13 April.
Then the Hockeyroos and an Australia A squad host China and Japan for a series of matches between Saturday 20 April and Sunday 28 April.
With selection for the Olympics only a few months away, the heat is on the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras to deliver against some of the world’s top competition.

Rugby Sevens – Hong Kong SNVS
The sixth stop of the Rugby SVNS Series continues this Friday 5 to Sunday 7 April in Hong Kong.
The women’s team are up against Fiji in the opening round whilst the men’s team take on France in their first game.

Rhythmic Gymnastics – Sofia Cup
Three Aussie rhythmic gymnasts have headed to Sofia, Bulgaria to compete in the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics Sofia Cup from today Thursday 4 April to Saturday 6 April.
The Sofia Cup is part of a three-competition series consisting of the Aphrodite Cup, Sofia Cup and Portimão International.

Artistic Swimming – World Aquatics World Cup
The first stop of the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup kicks off tomorrow Friday 5 April to Sunday 7 April in Beijing, China.
The Team Technical event starts tomorrow Friday 5 April at 8:30pm AEDT.

Beach Volleyball – Asian Beach Tour
The Asian Beach Tour gets underway today Thursday 4 April in Santa Rosa, Philippines as part of the Nuvali Open.
Five Aussie pairs are contesting the competition with three sets competing today. Second seeded men’s team Paul Burnett and Jack Pearse will take on New Zealand’s Krajci/Sadlier whilst the fourth seeds, D’Artagnan Potts and Ben Hood compete against hosts Abdilla/Pareja (PHL) in the men’s tournament.
In the women’s, seventh seeds Tara Phillips and Lizzie Alchin are up against the Filipino pairing of Polidario/Gaviola. First and second seeded teams, Stefie Fejes and Jana Milutinovic and Georgia Johnson and Jasmine Fleming will first take to the sand tomorrow.

Tennis – Charleston Open and Monte Carlo Masters
Charleston Open – WTA 500
Astra Sharma is the first Aussie through to the third round of singles at the Charleston Open in South Carolina.
Daria Saville can join her in the third round with a win over [7] Elina Svitolina (UKR). In the women’s doubles, top seeds Ellen Perez and Nicole Melichar-Martinez (USA) take on Magda Linette (POL) and Zhang Shuai (CHN) in the quarter-finals.
Men's Clay Court Championships, Houston – ATP 250
Two Aussies in the singles draw and three Aussie in the doubles tournament remain in Houston.
Both the singles players, James Duckworth and [8] Max Purcell are set for second-round clashes against the host nation’s [3] Frances Tiafoe and [WC] Michael Mmoh.
Andrew Harris and Rinky Hijikata face off against Fernando Romboli (BRA) and Marcelo Zormann Da Silva (BRA) for a spot in the third round. John Peers and William Blumberg (USA) take on the wildcard pairing Andres Andrade (ECU) and Ben Shelton (USA) in another second-round matchup.
