Alisa Camplin has jumped her way into the Australian team for Torino 2006, finishing fourth in a one-round World Cup in Lake Placid, New York.
Camplin's second top six result in 2005/06 elevated her above the other Australians seeking a spot at the Olympic Winter Games, guaranteeing her nomination to the Australian Olympic Committee by Ski and Snowboard Australia.
Under the Ski and Snowboard selection policy, Lydia Ierodiaconou is already set for nomination on the basis of her results last season.
Liz Gardner finished seventh in the Lake Placid event, joining team-mate Lainie Cole on one top six result and three top 12 placings for the season, but will gain a place in the team on a countback to results at the 2005 World Championships.
The fourth and final place in the Olympic team will be filled at the discretion of the selectors, with Cole, Bree Munro and Jacqui Cooper the three candidates for the position.
Camplin again performed a restricted degree of difficulty double twisting double somersault in Lake Placid, her second competition since returning from her knee reconstruction. She scored 88.51 points from the judges to miss a place in the top three by 1.5 points.
Evelyne Leu of Switzerland took the gold medal with her first jump total of 102.98 points when the second jump of the day was cancelled due to bad weather. Silver was shared by Canada's Amber Peterson and Anna Zukal of Russia, both on 90.09 points. Gardner took seventh place with 83.71 points with her triple twisting double somersault, and Jacqui Cooper was one place further back on 83.41 points.
Lainie Cole was 11th and Bree Munro 19th, while Ierodiaconou opted to miss the competition.
Deadline for nominations to the Australian Olympic Committee for the Torino 2006 team is 10:00am Monday January 23.
