AIS Short Track Speed Skater, Lachlan Hay, has produced one of the best results of his career to finish in tenth place in the 1500 metres at the ISU World Cup in Changchun, China.

The two-time Olympian progressed all the way through to the B Final, where he finished fourth, for his tenth place overall.

Hay also finished in 23rd place in the 1000 metre race.

In a busy weekend for the AIS skaters, Hay was also part of the 5000 metre relay team with Ronnie Caldecutt, Grant Hester and Pierre Boda that finished in 12th place.

OWI scholarship holder, Julie Jung, was Australia’s sole female representative.

The 20 year-old finished 22nd in the 500 metres and 26th in the 1500 metre race.

The next World Cup will be held in Shanghai, China, from December 10th to 12th.
