SHORT TRACK SKATING: Racing smart is paying off for Deanna Lockett who has qualified first in the 1500m heats going to the top of the semi-finals start list at the World Short Track Championships in Rotterdam, Holland.
"Deanna is showing a lot more aggressive skating," said coach Lachlan Hay.
Lockett will compete late tonight (Saturday AEDT) in the second heat of the semi final for the 1500m. She has missed out in the 500m heats but qualified in 19th to the quarter finals of the 1000m.
Pierre Boda and Andy Jung both made it through the prelims of the 500m, with Jung making it through the heats into the quarter finals.
“Both Boda and Jung skated well in their 1000m but did not make it out of the heats,” said coach Hay.
